They did fight, as much as a minority Party could fight. Not much you can do when you don't have the votes and the majority Party doesn't want to hear shit about counter proposals.
But you're right about the GOP owning the tax cuts. NO independent analyses show economic activity sufficient to pay the debt of $1.5 Trillion.
And when employees see the small size of their tax cuts compared to the size of the cuts for the wealthy there will be hell to pay.
Of course /trump's claim about his being hurt by the cuts is absolute horseshit. Be nice if he would show us some tax returns so we could see for ourselves how badly he will be 'hurt'.
No one else with real estate holdings will get hurt. How is Trump different?
