Nobody is "protecting" AlanC.Just using common sense and applying it to the ongoing "Saga" here.

In order to win against the "world",one must not "lock horns" with it but rather "Out maneuver it".I would know,I've been doing just that for the last 7 years (as a couple of others here who follow me know all too well).
