I went to the site today. in order to get there I had to walk about 2 miles down the railroad tracks, cross a fence and walk thru mesquite bushes.
The things that i found made the walk worth the trouble. I came up on the site of the flag pole where the ground breaking that i attended to was held.
I walked out through the brush and found survey stakes marking the site of the proposed refinery. I took pictures of the stake and pole and headed back to my truck.
After my visit today I have no doubt that there are plans for a refinery because i deal with survey stakes and markings on a daily basis and this survey was done by a professional survey company and I could tell by the engineering markings on the stakes. The main stakes clearly has the word Refinery marked on them. They appear to have been there for some time because they are weather beaten. And believe me there is no way anyone can see this site from any highway.
