Pete, that "shareholders of record" number is deceptive. ALL of the accounts that are held in street name in some brokerages are lumped together. For instance, Schwab could have 20 people but because Schwab is the holder of record, those 20 people are counted as ONE.
I have several accounts at one brokerage, all accounts have some IPIX in them. So right there you can see that if each account were listed as a "shareholder of record" there would be a ton of such shareholders. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has some in a regular account and also in IRAs.
