Yes, it's all part of the manipulation process. Hoping it'll spark panic selling, along with all the bs bashing, and they can cover at a nice low price. Then the slow accumulation will begin in preparation for their next dumping/shorting/bashing attack. They'll get spanked hard for it one of these times. All it will take to butt slam them is a second or even third huge press release they weren't expecting so soon after the first.
