There were several “moving parts”, in a short period of weeks. When one of the moving parts didn’t move quite the way some wanted, during a time when it was going to be a couple weeks before news of what the next moving part was going to do, some traders with very very short term time frames, either sold or placed GTC stop orders at .01. Those stop loss orders at .01 are either known or guessed at by those wanting to buy at “fire sale prices”. The mechanics of how MM’s find shares lower than the cheap bids, in order to sell to those bids, is a story that is slightly too complex for my grey fluff brain.
