With the finished product "Box on the Shelf" by Hisense 55" @ $1,399.00 and 65" @ $2,000.00 price points you are at a mfg cost of ~$900.00 for the 55" and ~$1,400.00 for the 65", to achieve a 30% margin, the cost of the "Mother Board" and associated electronics, probably looking at less than 50mg of red+green Quantum dots total per display or less than $500.00 cost for film/QD's .(just a guess) but you have the idea.Its their advertisement for their finished product on the shelf.
Most manufactures are involved with six sigma, ISO 900/9001 etc and "Just in Time Manufacturing".
Looking for a 25% to 40% margin on your finished display in the box on the shelf for purchase at "Costco, Target, K-Mart, Best Buy...etc-etc.
I do not think most folks are looking to spend more than $2,000.00 for any display, no matter how good it is. But this one is "1000 nit".
BTW, QMC most likely has surpassed the 4,000hr "Burn test " for the "BLUE" QD's.
All Manufacturer's have a product "Road Map"...We have to see how QMC fits into it.
