Adding a scan that does not impact the scheduled scan is not changing the protocol. Changing the number of days for the scheduled scan or eliminating it would be. Just a point of clarification. Performing a scan on the 30th day and then again on the scheduled day in the protocol would not be unprecedented in oncological clinical trials. Not saying this happened only pointing out that additional testing can be requested by the personal or clinical physician and approved by the lead investigator, who can also order an additional scan.
