I feel that your's is a common ailment for many of us. You are not in some exclusive club! More folks than we are willing to admit have these same concerns.

We live in an age that bombards us with information, true or untrue information. We all have a "Point of View" and how one balances that view during the information bombardment is key.

I for one believe I am an "OLD SOUL". I love individuals but avoid affiliations with groups as it fosters Us vs Them.
