This is where you are wrong my friend. Internal combustion engines are typically greater than 40% efficient and probably closer to 50%. This is basically electrical efficiency. If you add thermal efficiency by capturing the heat then you are in the 95% - 95% overall efficiency. Steam plants are at best 38% efficient unless you go to "super critical" boilers which will get you around 43% - 45%. But then your are talking big bucks.
