Concession with government decision, over 100 mln euros for energy

High energy concessions, which exceed 100 million euros, will be provided through eased procedures, and this will change the applicable law on public-private partnerships. The government has recently adopted some legal regulations in the last meeting, which excludes these investments from the rules that should normally go through the concessions. The main cause is prolonged time procedures that must pass a public-private partnership contract for more than two years.
According to the explanatory statement, many investors have withdrawn because of such deadlines. In conditions when the drought crisis is also giving high cost effects to energy imports, the infrastructure ministry has been set in motion to attract entrepreneurs to build new works with installed power over 2 megawatts , mainly hydroelectric power plants and power plants. Such investments are expected to pass the case more easily simplified legal procedures, however within the legal framework for concessions.
