The people who live closest to the SIRG mine are in the town of Chloride and there are 2 mines close to Chloride, both were caught operating without permits. So the locals and BLM along with SIRG management are making sure everything is done correctly.
The Mineral Park mine was fined $1.3M in May of 2012 and the Hondo operation is being shut down so there will be lots of unemployed mine workers available for SIRG. At one time there were over 72 mines operating around Chloride.
Chloride is a very small town, about 200 people that is part ghost town that never died, part artist community and tourist stop. I think there is one paved road, the rest are dirt. Most of SIRG's employees will likely come from Kingman, about 25 miles south of the mine.
