FINRA is a self regulating organization. It protects and serves the brokerage industry. It collects and reports the daily short sale information from the MM's at the request of the SEC. I do not believe FINRA is credible but I do believe that for the most part the MM's now after several multi million dollar fines have been handed out report fairly honest daily short sales. Now the bi monthly numbers are a different story as the criminals have two weeks to hide their sins and they do just that IMO. Trillions have been stolen from honest investors and it needs to stop.
