Hospitals and (reputable) clinics don't hand them out 'like candy', nor do most doctors.
The 'off the Interstate pain clinics' are another matter.
There's entirely do much 'broad brushing' on this subject.
And here I thought that the PEB had put those brushes on backorder.
It would be helpful if we had an administration that didn't simultaneously try to appoint the idiot that voted to cut back on DEA funding, to combat this issue in particular, while simultaneous trying to weaken the Medicaid which is the primary source of treatment for the addictions.
Perfect storm of Big Pharm cupidity and the GOP's almost religious fervor for deregulation and or weak enforcement of regulations.
