I also think he mentioned it because they are a pure play selling only oled materials to the display industry, so you might be able to compare P/E ratios.
Tech in general has always had a higher P/E than other mainstream companies.
The stock OLED closed at over $134 today, with a $6BN market cap and a P/E of 75. I think it started at $3 about 20 years ago. Pretty good ROI for a buy and hold strategy.
I like that quantum dots are a high value product that commands and can justify a high price, and yet can return even more when in a royalty or licensing model that recognizes the contribution of quantum dots to the end product.
