i apologize if this has already been covered, but a lot of people saw the "denied" in the PR and thought the patents had been denied, not the petition. I had to explain it to a couple of people and even saw someone on twitter saying the same thing, that the patents had been denied, and they have a ton of followers. once all those folks realize they are wrong, they will be scrambling to get back in.
