Failure to authenticate is not the same as fake news which is almost always simple fabrication.
There is plenty of corroboration that no one saw Bush during his final year of Reserve duty. That kind of shit would get anyone else activated, in a heart beat, after one unauthorized absence
He was a pilot, a drunk and a cocaine user....he couldn't pass the drug tests to maintain flight status.
We paid a huge price for Rather's carelessness.
But, Rather is spot on in his piece.
