That's exactly the kind of weak inference I've been criticizing. I think, I say, nothing of the kind. Nor does the author of the piece.
Your first presumption is 'lie', rather than is this true or false and why.
However I think you're on safe ground with that approach with regard to what Trump says. Call it a verifiable pattern. And I lean toward believing that the Trump campaign conspired with Russia during the '16 campaign.
