Biotech Holdings began marketing of Sucanon in China in 1997 through its subsidiary VoIque Pharmaceutical but suspended distribution in 2000 due to contractual issues relating to the operation of Volque and a change of strategic direction for Biotech, with a new emphasis on Latin American markets. In 2001 and 2003. Sucanon was granted regulatory approval in respectively Peru and Mexico. As of the beginning of 2006, Sucanon™ is distributed in Mexico and discussions are underway for initiation of distribution in Peru. Regulatory applications in Brazil and Argentina are in process.
