Matagorda TX is about 80 miles up the coast from Rockport TX. Rockport got hammered with severe destruction. From what I have been able to gather, Matagorda received lots of rain but not much bldg damage so I would expect M may have sustained some damage to his home but should have been fairly safe from harm or total destruction. I certainly hope that is the case. Nevertheless, if your home is spared in an area where everything around it is wiped out, not much happens until the rebuilding takes shape and it is still way early for them to be anywhere near back on their feet yet.

Hoping and praying he was spared the brunt of the storm. That area is basically sand with next to no high ground.
