Brilacidin has gigantic potential for its many uses. It seems very unlikely that anything could derail its progress toward approval for Ulcerative Proctitis and Oral Mucositis. Its use for severe infections will have to wait for funding to continue the clinical trials, because the bashers and cabal that has conspired against the stock has been effective in getting the stock to trade at no more than 1/5 of its actual value. But if you read the article that I posted this morning about how bacteria in weightlessness are even MORE resistant to traditional antibiotics, and the one I posted yesterday about children who got infections along the incisions for their heart surgery -- you'll see how many uses a powerful antibiotic could have.
Could Brilacidin be a household name? Absolutely -- because I think when there is actually an effective preventive treatment for oral mucositis, a lot more people are going to learn about this condition. I know several people who have had lots of chemo and radiation, and yet no one mentioned this until I asked them about it. I think that doctors tend to underplay it when they put their patients into chemo/radiation regimens, for fear that some patients won't accept chemo if they know how awful it could be, beyond the well-known side effects of hair loss and vomiting.
If Prurisol works on psoriasis, it may work on other autoimmune diseases too. We won't know until we have results of the current clinical trial. If this is effective on psoriasis, it might be effective on stopping the progression of psoriatic arthritis (a form of rheumatoid arthritis).
And if Kevetrin works..... well, something that could help people with 50% of the types of cancer is most certainly going to be a household name.
