Had a 1st grade teacher. Had a speech and eye problem at the time. Her fix was dunce cap in a corner of room. Never fully recovered from that criminal act.
However .... Curve and pass them on dangerous also.
Most schools seem to grade on ... Welfare, Factory, College and sort accordingly ... Unless you have some athletic talent....
