In July 2013, the CAS launched the Strategic Priority Research Program (Category A): Industrial Nanomanufacturing Focus. The National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, China (NCNST) is the supporting institute. The Program grouped more than 1000 scientists and students from 26 CAS institutes, including NCNST, and the Institute of Physics (IOP), the Institute of Chemistry (ICCAS), Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP) , Suzhou Institute of NanoTech and Nano-Bionics (SINANO), etc., focused on four main projects,
Project 1 “High Energy Density Lithium Batteries for Electric Vehicles”.
Project 2 “Green Printing Nanotechnology and Nanodevices Manufacturing”.
Project 3 “Applications of Nanostructured Materials in Specific Fields of Energy, Environment and Health”.
Project 4 “Crosscutting Nanotechnology and Standardization”.
The mission of the CAS Strategic Priority Research Program aims to set up the new network R&D model “From-Laboratory-to-Industry”. The final achievements of research and management for the dedicated nanotechnology have been transferred to more than 70 civil and international companies.
