When I was a kid, WW2 vets lived in about every other house on the block. Now we're not too many vets away from WW2 becoming just another "War of 1812". In other words, just something that one might run across while thumbing through an old history book that they're considering tossing away.
I do hope you're right when you say, "Going to be huge viewership". My guess is that it just might be the most highly viewed program Burns has done. And in my opinion, it will be a crying ass shame if it isn't. In not too many years from now we will be getting to the point where the Viet Nam war will be joining the War of 1812 and WW2. Dec. 7, 1941 may still be living in infamy, but to many these days, alas, it's just one more shopping day before Christmas.
