what an idea- instead of empty underground holes leading to sinkholes etc resulting from oil or water pumping etc, put something back for the future while simultaneously solving an immediate problem.
What an idea!-can a ''now now now me me me'' generation accept such an idea- only if they immediately benefit i guess- such as in water deficient southern california,which has stolen water from almost the entire west, despite an ocean of water on their door step-where are the saltwater conversion entrepreneurs ??.
the colorado river didnt even reach the gulf of california since the 1990's-resulting in a desert where a rich ecosystem used to be-until recently when a court mandated ?release of water for fish purposes caused it to do so.
the us govt uses salt caves to store oil for national emergencies.
they use tunneling machines,even for the 1994 chunnel from france to england- why dont they use such or even open channeling to bring ocean water to deserts- mine the salt, use the endless supply of water, lower ocean levels slightly- egypt and israel have both thought of doing so-not sure why neither followed through.
