History. You will understand that there was a mini ice age from 1400-1870 that drove slavery. Warmer climate farm land feed slavery as farmers needed the labor to feed Europe.
The slaves in the US were the lucky ones. Some farmers had large families 10-21 kids. Was that child labor and slavery ?
We are possibly nearing another mini ice age only with 7 billion people rather that less than 1 billion to feed...
China, India and a few others have some major issues to address.
