Beats-me[?]...but with only an 18hr study to back-up his contentions, I don't see how his ACS peers could even begin to take this guys' paper serious at the upcoming ACS Expo. My guess is he just had to put something (anything) out there to try & maintain his grant status with the increasingly hostile (anti-science) EPA.
