Unlike biologics, Prurisol would have a relatively short course of treatment, and then would NOT be taken every day. Biologics have to be taken every day, but it seems from animal studies that the benefits of Prurisol last long after the drug is stopped.
So, when you're looking at safety profiles, what's better - Prurisol, possibly needing a few blood tests to make sure that everything's okay, for about six weeks --
or a biologic every day, that may cause cancer, IBD, strokes, etc.?
If it were me, I'd rather go heavy on the Prurisol for 6 weeks and have some blood tests, and hope that it would put me in remission.
