good point-cant say i remember anything about him- an opportunist serving himself- especially interesting re lewis and clark--
something the histories often ignore about spain is that it destroyed, persecuted killed non catholics for hundreds of years-more than anybody else- and still does to this day,and in the process stifling intellectuals,the commercial class and modernization,banishing 1.5 million people over the centuries-the reformation/intellectualism never had a chance bc the inquisition,which many called the most infamous thing in history was already there
without anything comparable to the magna carta, an indifferent dictatorial ruling class exported nothing except the most stringent persecuting catholicism.
