What upsets me about the article is all the so-called do-gooder organizations with their hands out for the $ grab with XYX intervention program, tracking / monitor programs and the new buzzword of pain mgmt coping mechanisms. Unfortunately the one common theme with all theses programs is they're all after the fact and don't eliminate the issue at its source.
I'm sorry but I also find it unacceptable that someone should be told to live with chronic pain and we'll instruct you on how to cope with it. Our veterans or anyone for that matter impacted by a life-changing event / accident deserve better than that.
Unfortunately the uphill battle OWCP and all other legitimate companies in the MMJ field face is the US' unwillingness to reschedule MJ to class 3 and allow true research to be completed. I know several people who are very high ranking at the Cleveland Clinic (#2 hospital in the country) and bottom line each person I've spoke with has said MMJ is a hands-off topic unless it is rescheduled. We can have all the philosophical debates we want, but their reality is the legal liability for the doctors and the institutions is too high.
It is going to take Canada, Germany, Israel or other location to lead the way to force the US to change.
Change is percolating but it's a slow brew.... I wish there was a way to ignite a flame under our elected officials backside to bring about the necessary rescheduling to get things moving forward.
At this point I think our only near-term hope is the effect of Canada and California going fully legal in Jan2018; hoping the combined effect will release a tidal wave that can't be stopped.
