Another scenario is that the US will just continue to slide down. In Obama's first 6 years average family income fell almost 10%. Got some back his last two.
Point about immigration. The US needs it for population growth. Either bad diet or Monsanto has drastically reduced male sperm count. All those Mexicans fleeing did buy things.
