Going one speculative step further; I wonder whos' "chip" is being tested anyway...QMC makes QDots, not chips. I reckon QMC could have outsourced the specs & acquired a private entity to construct a chip that would presumably be acceptable to the OEM's , but I seriously doubt that is in their wheelhouse. I would submit that it may be far more likely that Nitto-Denko &/or one or more of the OEM's have drafted our QD's into one of their existing chip compositions/designs & are doing the testing in-house.....just a passing thought
