"Man’s main task in life is to give birth to himself, to become what he potentially is. The most important product of his effort is his own personality." — Man for Himself, 1947. by Erich Fromm
I have read a number of Fromm's books, a 100 years ago, and have had him on the brain all morning. I guess because I'm having lunch with a psychology teacher a little later today, he's an Ed.D. Maybe he'll give me a free examination if I pick up the check.
I did reread his book "The Art of Loving" last year and might get around to rereading "Escape From Freedom".
