I believe their are times when management prefers to spoon feed investors rather than being frank about how much time, and money, will really be needed to bring a product to market. OWCP isn't exclusive here, many companies do it.

I like an expression I've heard that investors are treated like mushroom, kept in the dark and covered with manure, and they grow.

Personally I'd rather be told the truth, but I believe management fear's that we cannot handle the truth. I certainly don't know what the truth is, but if the truth involves full clinical testing, sales could be year's away, not months.
