Two years ago I went to Pearl Harbor. We toured the Missouri! The history of this ship is amazing. While we were there, they were replacing the deck with new teak wood. So I asked one of the laborers if they would give me a splinter of the old deck wood. He did so. I keep that small sliver of wood in my billfold. To think of the End of WWII ended on that deck and I got a small token of the real deck of the USS Missouri still gives me chills.
