Looking at the technical for how gold is trading, some analysts think momentum is building for higher prices.
The VanEck Vectors Gold Miners ETF (GDX) closed Monday at $21.98, up 0.18 (0.83%) and then another bump after hours to $22.03, up another 0.05 (0.23%). The VanEck Vectors Junior Gold Miners ETF (GDXJ) closed up at $32.75, gaining 0.35 (1.08%) with a slight rise after hours.
The SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) closed up at $117.29, gaining 0.52 (0.45%), with a minor pull back after hours.
Nevada gold-miner Pershing Gold Corporation (NASDAQ
GLC), (TSX: PGLC), (FWB: 7PG1) closed at $2.82, rising 0.09 (3.30 %) on the NASDAQ.
Barrick Gold Corporation (ABX.TO) closed at $20.42, moving up .20 (0.99 %) and on the NYSE (ABX) gained $.09 (0.56%).
Newmont Mining Corp (NEM) finished at $33.73, up 0.43 (1.29 %).
