You are flat out wrong to state that an accurate citing of the facts, that the Constitution makes no mention of god, is dishonest.
The 'legislative intent' was made clear in the LEGISLATION that is the U.S Constitution. It was ratified by people who were fully cognizant of what was in the Declaration.
Thusly the intent to omit mentions of god and to establish the basis for separation of church from state, because of the bloody history I referred you to, is clear to anyone who knows the difference between the intent of the two documents.
