It's my belief that virtually all their products come from extracts they can get from a variety of cannabis plants. I'm no expert, but I believe that like so many other things, their are many types of cannabis plants and the extracts from these plants may be characterized into a couple basic forms of oils, or other extracts, but their are variations.
People who smoke marijuana prize certain forms, and disdain others. I believe that one of the keys to what OWCP is doing is that their products will consistently be the same.
Perhaps initially their will only be a single form of the cannabis cream, or the sublingual tablet, but I believe that over time they'll develop a variety of formulations that will be available.
Someone suggested the cream could work on burns, I don't know that it would necessarily have healing properties, but if it provided comfort to the burn victim, that alone could be huge. I would suspect that a cream intended for severe burns might be very different from what's used on psoriasis, or acne, etc. but initially the same cream may demonstrate benefits in all these things.
It will take time for all of this to evolve, but hopefully the patents under consideration can be modified to cover a variety of applications and formulations.
