Gheorghe Zamfir, the first panflutist to achieve worldwide fame and recognition, has undisputably made enormous contributions to the pan flute. As a panflutist Zamfir certainly possesses great skill (as do many others), but it is generally agreed by panflutists that Gheorghe Zamfir's contributions to the instrument are huge.
