Trump is a sick SOB and it’s becoming more and more apparent to sensible people with each passing day.

There were just a few questions to be asked after the President of the United States tweeted about a cable news anchor's bloody face-lift Thursday morning.

The most immediate: What is wrong with this guy? (Answer: plenty.)
Another was, how will the White House respond? (Answer: By saying he's a "fighter," and unintentionally speaking a fundamental truth about our country in the last election.)

But perhaps the most enduring question is, how much longer are Republicans in Congress going to put up with this?

Seth Meyers sought to answer that last one last night, but he also had to confront Trump himself with a question. "Said no to what," Meyers wondered, "your fuckin' meds?"

The conclusion Meyers seems to come to is a solid one:

Republicans will put up with Trump until they get their tax cuts. Some of those tax cuts will come out of the grotesque healthcare law Mitch McConnell is desperately trying to shove through the Senate, and which Speaker Paul Ryan will then try to ram through the House. The $172 billion in tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans is a high price, and one Republicans are willing to pay using cuts to health coverage for the poorest and oldest Americans—and, it seems, by mortgaging the dignity of our nation's highest office.

"To the likes of Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell, Donald Trump's presidency is a filet mignon steak with a little piece of shit on it," Meyers said, "and they're willing to ignore that shit to get the steak. But it's become clear that it's actually a giant piece of shit with a little bit of steak on it. And their attitude seems to be, 'Well, we're already at the restaurant.'"

Expect Republicans to continue expressing their "disappointment" with the president's tweets—then try to ram through a healthcare bill for him to sign.
