Interesting read here if you want to know why MYDX is pushing the data.
This is not a new concept but you can see in 2014 they knew that with the advances in tech it would expanded upon. Every device able to gather specialized knowledge thru a sensor, send it to a large database to be stored, assimilated and accessed for a future reference will have value. As a result the database grows as well so with every use it becomes "smarter".
MYDX does this perfectly. It gathers the information it needs to send back to its database through and application. Within this database it is determined what was measured and the percentages then returned to the device. If one machine were to do this it would be to large for your hand and certainly not cheap.
Data is knowledge and knowledge is king, just ask and investor.
