Good-till-cancelled high-price sell orders will protect your shares from being loaned out to short sellers -- the ones who are doing it legally, with ethical brokers. I have GTC sells on my stock at 20. When it starts moving up, I will move the price up higher.

Remember though that Fidelity won't let you put a high price on stocks that trade under a dollar. So if you use Fidelity, be very careful so that you don't lose your stock at a lowball price.

We could easily see an event like the DNDN example I posted earlier, closes at 7, opens at 21.
