Didn't see this post when I wrote mine. Anyway, if the choice is death or using the quinolone, tossing the dice and taking the quinolone is probably the right one to make. But I reiterate, the bashers elsewhere will be making a big deal out of the lie that Brilacidin for ABSSSI is no longer needed.
That is absolutely untrue. Quinolones are unsafe and now have a black box label stating that they should be used only if the alternative is death. Brilacidin's thus far very mild and transient side effects are nothing, compared to quinolones.
Public Service Announcement: most doctors are not yet aware of the black box label on Cipro, Avelox, and Levaquin, and their generics. If a doctor suggest that you use one, please educate them as to the black box warning.
