Our courts and our free press are proving an AMAZING firewall to fascism, GOP treason notwithstanding. WaPo has been KILLING it just like they did in the early 1970s. I thanks them from the bottom of my patriotic heart/

20. And I am also profoundly grateful to
our intel community, including that of our allies, who have had the extraordinary courage to violate U.S. laws in order to bring all this information to our attention via the media. Without them, the media would be at a complete loss (to be charitable about it).
As bad as things are and as bad as we understand things might get, for now I am frequently overcome with amazement -- and gratitude -- to watch our institutions and our Constitution in action to keep a check on Trump's excesses and to start to bring him to justice. It's awkward, slow, halting at times, but it IS working.
At least for now. We have to make sure Trump isn't able to dispense with the Constitutional forces and institutions designed to prevent people like him from ultimately succeeding.
