I would definitely get a "margin" account so that the good faith rule won't apply and you can use unsettled funds to trade (within the restraints of the PDT rule if under $25K ).
$SIML : the problem here as you know was you initially bought in too high (avoid buying HOD) , $SIML was +102% today on good news and strong volume, if volume continues tomorrow and there isn't significant dilution you should have a chance to exit without a loss. Don't think much of the 52 wk high=.10, there was a 1:1000 R/S 07/22/16.
