I accept your overall premise but I see so many instances where it is very clear the interviewers are setting up the interviewee to either hit the soft pitch over the fence or "when did you stop beating your wife?"!

Everyone knows Fox leans this way and CNN supports so ands so ect ect. The late Mr Roger Ailes would have the producers watch the shows with the sound off. The visuals more important than intellectual content.
