Duly noted. My case of the sads over the amazing shit show unfolding is ameliorated by my memories of how it all ended
in the summer of '74.
I HAVE seen this move before
It will probably be somewhat different.... Nixon made if more difficult.... and with many more horrifying surprises along the way to the inevitable end.
But I will never be a fan of false equivalence. One Party appeals to and manifests authoritarianism more than the other Party. And one Party consistently appeals to the worst impulses in the worst of us.
Been that way at LEAST since Goldwater who succinctly stated the justification for his 'the end justifies the means' philosophy with his 'extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice' declaration.
Actually, extremism IS a political vice.
