The investor is probably someone who has a vested interest in seeing the company succeed rather than the guys that lends you 500K and then tries to short your company into oblivion.
The investor probably envisions a healthy return on the investment as well.
The investor must buy in on the business plan and be confident in it as well to lay out that kind of cash.
It's gonna be a fun ride I think....
