Hi Pete. Since that combo trial with Kevetrin was hospital sponsored - Pfizer and Cellcuetix just had to do the mountain of legal permission and protection work. It is unlikely ctix will allow any big pharm to head a combo trial - the loss risk would be too high. But big pharm can go in back door thru University grant funding and University can carry out research - in lab and in hosp. CTIX will want to have their drug locked up - with FDA approval, NCE and patents before they loosen the reigns on who studies. So - they'll let bp fund thru University grants and maintain control over their property. Setting themselves up for good partnerships to market the drug and setting themselves up for bidding war by letting more than one big pharma relationship develop thru preclinical combo research in protected University setting.
