Pre-clinical stage biopharmaceutical company InMed Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (OTCQB: IMLFF) (CSE: IN) this morning announced the filing of a provisional patent application in the United States for INM-085 as a cannabinoid-based topical therapy for glaucoma. The company notes that this move marks an important step toward providing intellectual and commercial protection for INM-085. If approved, INM-085 could address an expansive global market that’s currently valued in excess of $5 billion. Per this morning’s update, glaucoma is currently the second-leading cause of blindness, driven by risk factors such as increased pressure in the eye, a family history of the condition, migraines, high blood pressure and obesity.
